Second Life© (SL) is a virtual world developed by Linden Lab® that launched in June 2003 and is accessible via the Internet. A client program called the Second Life Viewer enables its users, called Residents, to interact with each other through the use of avatars. Residents can explore, meet other residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, and create and trade virtual property and services with one another, or travel throughout the world, which residents refer to as the grid. Second Life is for people aged 18 and over, while Teen Second Life is for people aged 13 to 17.
SLTUNES.COM Radio Station is an in-world game participate "Resident" as described above. We are not affiliated with, nor owned and operated by Linden Labs® or Second Life© in any way. Our company actions are taken based on our company needs and directives and have nothing to do with actions of Linden Labs®. Our company has applied for written permission to use the Second Life© trademarks, symbols, and name sake with Linden Labs® through the on-line process they have put in place.
While we try to adhere to all the Linden Labs® trademark policies and keep the site up to date, we have no control over the rules and possible changes made to these trademark policies by Second Life© and by Linden Labs® that may effect parts of our site for use of their Intellectual property. It is not our company intention to violate these said policies, nor is our intention to mis-use trademarks by others and if a discrepancies arises it should be brought to the attention of our radio staff management to be addressed in a timely manner.
It may be disputed our company name is in violation of the Linden Labs® trademark policies, we will vigorously argue that our name was purchased and in-fair use prior to the Linden Labs® trademark application in March 2007 for the letters "SL". Further that our name, brand and logos have no similarity to any of Linden Labs®/Second Life© name, symbols, and logos. We have taken the necessary steps to follow Linden Labs® guidelines and policies with regards to their trademarked owned items and have indicated so when used, as directed in our written statements for permission to use. Any questions about this policy or possible infringement upon these policies and guidelines set for by Second Life© and Linden Labs® should be directed to the SLTUNES.COM station Second Life© resident user "Deejay Beat" in the world or concerns can be directed to support@sltunes.com.
