SLTUNES.COM Radio Station was formed in May 2006 by Taft Worsley, Deejay Beat and Eli Rosenthal, when we first started out we were/are like most new Second Life© residents; just new people in a vast world who have a dream, a passion for good music and a whole lot of free time to put into the world of Second Life© to learn all there is to know about running and building a virtual radio station and company. During the early period we could barley walk and fly, let alone put together a long standing virtual world radio company such as we have with SLTUNES.COM. Throughout our tenure in the virtual world scene, we have experienced the growing pains most virtual companies do, along with the added complexity of working in this new environment and learning how to collaborate over distances together as a team.
Eli left the station early on in late 2006 to pursue his dreams of sharing his art with the world and shortly there after opened Rosenthal Galleries in the virtual world. Taft spent allot of time working on the station, he had a great passion for providing the best services to the residents of Second Life©. Early in 2008, Taft past away of the untimely second life illness, realworlditus, as he left Second Life© to pursue dreams in real life with business in family. Which leaves the remaining founder and Station Manager Deejay Beat. During his time in world, Deejay Beat has worked on many Second Life© events and club venues, provided master of ceremony services for runway shows, has done countless private parties and has worked with many people from all over the globe through the click of music.
Today, SLTUNES.COM Radio Station is stronger then ever, with a steady continual growing listener base of world wide fans from all over the globe. Since our start in the virtual world scene we have always stayed true to our music genre of 80"s Pop music, which we dub "The Ultimate 80's". Our station programming is a mix of the pop music most of you rocked to as a kid, when spandex was bad and hair bands where good. Statics show most listeners tune-in over a two hour period while in second life©, to listen steady with out grabbing for the virtual land channel changer, we most be doing something right.
In the future, you will see more interactive features both on our website and in world at out station. We encourage you to join and become a member of our site to keep up to date on events, contest and future plans. SLTUNES.COM Radio Station has plans of breaking ground on a new radiostation and store in the midddel of 2010 and we are excited to bring a project of this magnitude to the virtual world.
